Holiday Food Drive 2008

Update: January 9, 2009 -

Abacus Technology Corporation would like to thank everyone for their considerate donations in the 2008 Abacus Holiday Food Drive. This year, The Neediest Kids was not accepting food donations, so Abacus contributed to The Capitol Area Food Bank instead. As promised, Abacus matched all donations and dropped the food off in Northeast D.C. Abacus was able to donate an amazing 697 lbs of food to the Food Bank. The volunteers were ecstatic and so thankful for our generosity during this holiday season.

Thank you for making this Food Drive a success.  Your generous donations will be sure to help many local families in need. I especially want to thank the office coordinators that were able to help with the collection of the food items. We hope to continue the success of this food drive in years to come.

Thanks again and have a Happy New Year!

Holiday Food Drive 2008

Abacus Technology is continuing its recent tradition of helping the hungry/homeless through a company-wide food drive.  Employees are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items to a local charity or food bank designated by their Cost Center management.  Dennis Yee, the firm’s President, will once again match all employee donations, providing the additional monetary means for each organization to purchase more bulk food products.

Last year, Corporate office staff members were the leading contributors to the food drive.  In the “spirit of giving”, Abacus Technology has been able to collect nearly 2,000 food items during the Holiday season.  Our goal is to not only exceed this benchmark, but to have 100 percent employee participation as well.
