Microsoft Enterprise Engineer

Overview: Abacus Technology is in need of a Microsoft Enterprise Engineer to provide support for Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS)/System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).  This is a full-time position supporting the AETC at Randolph AFB.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Implement and optimize Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS)/System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).  Develop Microsoft and non-Microsoft patch packages for deployment using SMS/SCCM.  Perform problem resolution (fault isolation/diagnostics) as needed.  Install and configure system components.  Lead and document the design, testing, development, and migration patch packages to support AETC.  Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance (including patches, software upgrades, firmware updates) of system components.  Audit system logs for items of concern – take actions as appropriate.  Document/maintain system documentation used in the daily administration/maintenance of the AETC environment.  Evaluate configuration/change management requests and implement in accordance with change management processes.  Train junior technicians and develop training materials. 

Qualifications: 5 years experience in system administration for an enterprise-level environment.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Certifications and/or training such as Security+, CISSP, or MCSE are highly desirable.  Extensive experience with MS Windows tools and technologies including a thorough knowledge of Systems Management Server (SMS) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).  Experience with enterprise vulnerability prevention and detection, automated patching, and remediation techniques.  Working knowledge of current operating systems, standard network services and protocols, systems software, automated tools, directory services, transmission media, and all other components comprising network architectures.  Familiarity with the Air Force Network Operations Center (AFNOC) and Network Control Center (NCC) infrastructure including roles and responsibilities of each function are highly desirable.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with personnel at all levels (to include technicians and managers).

Program Manager

Overview: Abacus Technology is in need of a Program Manager to oversee AFNetOps transformation, network operations, and security compliance for the AETC program at Randolph AFB.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Provide program management for IT programs, projects, mission beddowns, and BRAC associated actions.  Prepare, review, and coordinate planning, programming, and budgeting documents concerning the overall project objectives and technical approach.  Develop valid alternative strategies for implementation.  Represent the division and/or directorate on Joint, HQ Air Force and MAJCOM panels, boards, committees, and in conferences for planning, funding, acquisition, installation, and implementation of command IT requirements projects.  Provide staff with immediate and appropriate guidance.  Function as a technical advisor to the AETC staff for IT technological advances and when necessary, provides alternative and innovative approaches and specific recommendations.  Review, comment, and coordinate on DoD, Joint, and AF directives, program and project plans, requirements documents, program management plans, program management directives (PMDs), statements of need (SoNs), operational requirements documents (ORDs), and statements of work (SOWs) to assure the actions required to satisfy the requirements are thoroughly identified.  Prepare and present Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and briefings.  Act as a special projects officer for, and provides management solutions to, special C&I problems, projects, and programs assigned by management.  Function as senior program manager, technical authority, and/or team leader for the definition, planning, development, organization and implementation of C&I plans and programs.  Participate as Lead in Site Surveys and Site Activation Task Force (SATAF) teams.  Provide status reports on a monthly basis for the performance objectives as indicated on the Services Summary.

Qualifications: 7+ years experience.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Experience in Program Management to include planning, programming, and budgeting for Communications/IT Programs.  Experience with AFNetOps preferred.  Comfortable serving as key focal point and program manager for command-wide planning and implementation projects.  Experience in preparing, coordinating, and briefing Communications/IT information/briefings in support of executive level decision making.  Experience managing projects and programs for the federal government.  Knowledge of MS Project or similar tool.  Solid communication skills are critical.
