Featured Position: LAN/WAN Administrator - Killeen, TX
Overview: AbacusTechnology is in need of a LAN/WAN Administrator to provide support for network operations and system administration at West Fort Hood. This is a full-time position.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform simple to complex assignments in the field of network systems administration.
- Monitor the performance of the network to ensure continued operation to all users.
- Establish, delete, and modify user accounts.
- Establish functional and security profiles to allow network availability to all registered users.
- Provide VTC support as necessary.
- Provide support for all Blackberry devices and the Blackberry server as well as to the Apple Mac server that supports the graphics department.
- Perform scheduled scans on computers and assist in updates as required.
- Troubleshoot simple to complex hardware/software problems by analyzing information provided by users.
- Assist with developing and implementing network procedures.
- Install, maintain, and monitor licenses for software applications operating on the network.
- Maintain file servers, print servers, and firmware and troubleshoot servers to resolve user problems.
- Coordinate with vendors on server hardware for maintenance and warranty work.
- Act as secondary network data backup technician providing assistance with nightly backups and quality control for backups.
Qualifications: 3-6 years experience in network/PC operations and system administration. Associates degree in a related field preferred. MCSE certification desirable. Must possess thorough understanding of computer networks and telecommunications procedures. Experience with MS Windows 2000/2003 and Blackberry. Familiar with VTC. Able to communicate with users at all levels of an organization.
