Abacus Technology participates in several Mentor-Protégé Programs that serve as a means to develop the technical capabilities of small disadvantaged businesses and other qualifying organizations, allowing them to compete more effectively for defense-related work.
Our program is designed to provide the Federal Government with productive and competitive contractors while developing a long term teaming arrangement. It begins with a detailed functional assessment of the Protégé's infrastructure and culminates with a transfer of technology. Our development support services include: Marketing, Subcontracting, Business Planning, Financial Management, Task Order Management, Security (Facility and Personnel) Clearance Processing, Contract and Administrative Support Services, Human Resources Management, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Sample Mentor-Protégé Results: As a result of Comnet Sciences' Mentor-Protégé partnership with Abacus Technology, it was awarded six prime contracts, primarily with the U.S. Air Force. Comnet also experienced:
- an annual revenue increase from $125,000 to $750,000 with a $6.5 million backlog,
- saw its employee base grow by 800 percent.
- Comnet's technical capabilities were expanded in the areas of software process improvement,
Informix development, and competitive sourcing.
